The Star says that Adam Vaughan will get the council position on the AGO Board. Building Bridges!

Also, Giorgio Mammoliti on Community Development and Recreation. Hope you like Casinos and Red Light Districts!

If there isn't a single member of the Toronto-East York council on the EC, then is council going to approve this?

Have any previous EC's neglected either Toronto-East York ... or Scarborough, North York, or Etobicoke?

Would the current Residential Toilet Replacement Program where the City offers Toronto residents a $60 or $75 cash incentive to replace a water-guzzling toilet with a City-selected water-efficient model, be on the chopping block?

From a report a couple weeks a go in the Star:

“I was getting briefed yesterday,” Kouvalis said. “I was like … the Tower Renewal Program — what is that? We’re subsidizing (installation of low-flow) toilets ... Guys, you know that stuff’s gotta stop. The priority is the taxpayer, to stop the gravy train, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Um, isn't the taxpayer the one who is installing the toilets?

js:

Did miller have any fiscally responsible backed member on any of his committee chairs?

To counter that counter, Miller actually appointed David Soknacki - a known moderate conservative - as his budget chief in his first term - an arguably more important position than committee chairs.

AoD

Their all rookies, why would they be on any executive list? (cept paula fletcher of course)

There are 12 wards covered by Toronto-East York council, and only six are rookies.

To counter that... did miller have any fiscally responsible backed member on any of his committee chairs?
In his first term Miller had Mike Feldman as one of this deputy mayors, and had Norm Kelly, Brian Ashton, and Mark Grimes on his exec.

And look! Miller got re-elected when he did appoint 'fiscally responsible' moderate candidates.

It's when he got carried away the second term that they kicked him out no? Even more reason to appoint centrists people.
Face it kids, the NDP took over city hall the last 4 years, that's why the swing!

If we want to speak to the facts, taking a look at the voting record of all the appointments, their all considered 'moderate', even 'progressive' under the Miller regime? no?

Yes, Holyday is fiscally conservative and Delgrande can finally come out of his shell and be a raging Conservative in a Liberal riding, but the rest are fairly flexible

The guy has a mandate, even Pantalone campaigned on a vehicle tax cut in his last days... (Although I think it's a completely dumb, pointless idea).

The Gravy Train is stoping nonetheless!

whohooo!!! lol.

Actually, no. Last I checked he didn't get kicked out. He left the position. He would have won another term if he wanted it (and "gravy train" would never have entered our lexicon).

You're living in lala land if you think Miller would have won, like really? He would have came in third place, yes, he would have gotten more than Pants, but not more than Smitherman.

Between Smitherman and Miller... it would have been an even larger Ford margin. Would have been an embarrassment for him.

There is poll evidence that Miller would have won re-election by a considerable margin, had he run.

Given that Miller didn't get kicked out, and recent polling showed he'd win re-election, then what you are writing is completely false.

It's a simple exercise to then extroplate falseness, and assume that everything you write is also false.

Fiscally conservative .... what like Mulroney, Harper, and Bush? Oh boy, are we in trouble.

After 43 pages (and this isn't the only thread), why is everyone still trying to convince this guy? He's obviously not respresentative of the average Ford voter, as many/most of them were simply not part of the policy discussion, being blisfully unaware of strategies, i.e. for the priority neighbourhoods, designed to help them, specifically.
