There are no serious consequences from the integrity commission. A written reprimand, a formal apology to the muppets of Toronto or a wish-you-were-here postcard from rehab...

So, AoD (and others), does this not cross the line on Rob Ford's personal definition of 'conflict of interest'? Both Apollo and he, personally (through Deco), benefit from his lobbying and decision-making.
Not to mention the fact it's a conflict of interest by any reasonable person's definition as well.

That's a harsh way to talk about the Integrity Commissioner, still it does seem we hear more from her when some bureaucratic process on council is side-stepped and Gord Perks is upset and waving a rulebook around, but don't hear anything of investigations in instances like when Shriner and Mammolitti are getting rent breaks from a developer, or when bankrupt Mammolitti has a big mid-season fundraiser outside the city, or when the Mayor is proven to associate with criminals.

Never mind Rob, how about Douggie on this one. The only connection to Apollo is that they do business, they are not in his riding, he shouldn't be involved AT ALL.

If you are asking me, this is influence peddling. We really shouldn't be that surprised though, given the previous mentioned instances of using his authority to gain access to senior bureaucrats and prioritizes improvements for Deco.

Don't blame the IC - the system never empowered her to do anything beyond mild rebuke. The issue is the unfortunate assumption that politicians have a sense of self-respect and dignity. Clearly what this mayoralty (and to be perfectly honest the shenanigans at every level of government) proven once and for all is that we cannot trust elected official to do the right thing - that we need restrictive rules, zealously monitored by an independent third party backed up with teeth.

I agree with Cooper, which makes me question how the hell Deco has "flourished" while having the 3 stooges running the place. It defies logic.
There has to be a lot of monkey business going on, the Ford boys would have trouble organizing a sock drawer FFS.

Yeah, that's the nice part about this one---Doug gets some of the shit on him, too. It's important to remember that Rob isn't the only Ford we need to be worried about---if Doug makes it out of this mess clean we'll constantly have to be watching our backs for him. It's really vitally important that the ground is salted underneath that entire family so no political careers can ever grow there again.
