I can't tell: are you being sarcastic with that bolded statement or sincere? It doesn't make much sense to me in context.

I am not demanding answers, and I am not someone who doesn't think that there is method to the police madness. I thought one commenter from the referenced article brought up some valid points to contemplate.

I do agree with this:
And I'd add, the only thing worse than having Ford be a laughing stock to the world would be having our police forces efforts to get him fail. This is massive for TPS as well as Toronto.

Semi-unfortunately I was trained by retired police specialists (PI's) in surveillance because my best friends child was parentally abducted. (Unfortunate because it had to be done, but fortunate because I helped to catch the bitch) and during that they told me about a lot of their experiences.

And yes I have several relatives working in police forces around the region - and yes, I've heard too many stories.

I may have gone overboard on you, but I'm tired of hearing about police cover ups and the outrage over Ford getting off cause he's a white rich guy. He's being treated like any other perp when they're looking for more.

Anyway, who thinks that Doug will make an ill-advised comparison at some point tomorrow between Mandela and Doug's saintly brother, Rob. We've had Rob/Jesus, Rob/Diana, Rob/JFK, Rob/Obama and so why not Rob/Mandela. Bad taste? Sure, but we're talking the Ford brothers here...

on what grounds do you believe its legal to install that device in a persons car?
especially one who have not been caught or convicted of drunk driving.

Oh, man. I'm laughing very hard at that, as long as it stays late-night fiction. If it happens for real, not funny at all.

You're too right that it's plausible that Doug would compare Rob's brushes with the law to 27 years in prison for a just cause.

I never said or implied that. I just merely stated that he has been caught. Driving drunk is still driving drunk no matter what country you are in.

Well, this was easier to understand. Unless it is very clear and simple in context, sarcasm is easy to misread. Aside from your need to swear, I appreciate this style of communication much more.

On that note, one reason why I like UT is because most people here do not swear with as great frequency as most other sites all over the internet. I find name calling to be a form of bullying and an attempt to shut down communication. I rarely swear, and (to ONK) I rarely make fun of others, even those with mullets.

If we could remember that this forum is comprised of a diverse group of people when posting, that would be much appreciated. Some of us are quite sensitive (I winced when I read the word 'bitch' above) and I think that is a good thing.

Hang on, didn't Diane Ford say that she'd told Rob to get a breathalyzer installed in his car, into which he would presumably have to blow before the engine would start?

Surely she wouldn't... oh, wait a minute, she did!

Now, why would this Halloween costume of a mother say such a thing - on television, no less - unless she thought that her own son had a problem with drinking and driving?

Despite the fact that she's right up there with Doug as Enabler to the "Mayor" by Royal Appointment, is Diane Ford simultaneously working hand-in-hand with the Star? Or what?
