Restaurant Comings & Goings

I like Pho Linh on College, a bit west of Dufferin, which I believe is in @evandyk 's neck of the woods. If you're willing to cross into the less chartered expanses of the outer boroughs then Pho Ngoc Yen 2 at 1596 The Queensway in Etobicoke and Linh Anh located within a plaza at 3290 Midland Ave get my recommendations.

I recently visited Pho Xe Lua on Spadina and their pho broth sucked. It felt super watered down, and decline from what they used to be.

I used to go to Pho Linh occasionally several years back and thought it was solid. Cash only though, unless that's changed.

It's still cash only unfortunately. I would consider going there more often if they took credit or at least debit. Back in the day it was common for Asian places to take only cash but even most old Chinatown places take debit/credit nowadays.

Agree with this. Xe Lua used to be stellar prior to Covid. Now they're very inconsistent.

East Chinatown is still very cash-only in spots.

I'd go more often too if they took debit. I rarely carry cash. Dimpflmeier bakery in Etobicoke is another place that drives me nuts - such a large, popular business and they're still cash only. If they didn't have such amazing chocolate chip cookies that you can only get there I'd probably boycott them.
