Chicago-based Higgins' 25 York was 32 storeys - Menkes' is either 24 or 28

i guess they shortend it from 48 to 43 but made the podium
bigger,most likely to accomadate rbc because the original
podium was much smaller.thus keeping the same square footage.also the podium is 400,000 sq ft and rbc and rbc dexia signed a 15 lease for 410 000 sq ft so i guess thats my take on it

Wow. A Ritz and a 43-48 storey office tower on this corner will completely change the feel of this area. The location is perfect for expanding the CBD westward.

34 stories versus 48 is a pretty major difference. The new rendering kind of looks more suburban office park than downtown gem. Thoughts?

This is a 43 storey tower NOT 34. Read the news release 9 storey podium + 34 floors of office tower.

34 stories versus 48 is a pretty major difference.

The press release clearly states it'll be 43 stories.

no, 151 front west is the one that's also being referred to with a station street address. it was something like 28 storeys, with an odd geometric design, and was supposed to house a data centre

How so?

It does bear a resemblance to Simcoe Place, which I wouldn't call suburban. It makes sense since this building is essentially Cadillac Fairview's Simcoe Place 2, which has been rumoured for years.

Its also taller than Simcoe Place and has a larger podium.


So how would you consider this suburban?

I emailed Cadillac Fairview. Height is 610 feet.

Simcoe Place I is 486 ft. This new tower is 601.
