Question - New Project - Registering with an Agent - Pros and Cons

I was wondering if anyone could let me know whether there are any benefits to registration with an agent when purchasing a pre-construction condo.

Do agents get access to better units / lower prices / privileged access?

Or is it just the same if one contacts the developer directly without an agent?
