In my opinion I feel like this is a thread missing. Personally I think it would be nice to be able to post pictures here solely on the progress of the minton portal and the bridge that will run across the valley

4 properties were expropriated and demolished last year during the summer, and now the site is currently in Phase 2 of the excavation process

One more thing I wanted to add is that a couple weeks ago I noticed that the eastern portion of the lower don trail from the beechwood drive entrance had a fence blocking it and a sign saying not to trespass. Though, I figured it had something to do with the Ontario Line. It might be open again already as I found this recently after I wanted to learn how long it would close from, as I've seen the trail in many different stages, as in the first time I saw all the trees gone, it definitely felt a bit off. It would've been nice if I had taken a picture back then but unfortunately it stays a memory with me

Er...no it isn't. And I found that out the hard way...as in I did not reach my destination going north to Seaton Park. My walk was cut short at that police dog kennel thing...

...I presume the shutting down on this trial is for repair and replacement of said trail. And has nothing to do with the OL overpass...outside of them working on this in conjunction of said rail bridge. Because, why not. >.<

Also, there is a related thread for OL over here to which covers quite a bit of this portion of this area:

Hope this helps.

Thought I saw someone on that trail like a week ago so it was an assumption. Thanks for the update though

If a thread isn't needed then no problem, but sometimes I find myself looking for content ONLY related to the minton portal, and I thought posting this would be a nice addition to document the progress separately instead of having pictures throughout the main OL thread

As far as infrastructure for the OL goes, this qualifies as much as any station along the route IMO. Progress on the bridge is lost in that thread. I say we keep this one separate.

Yes i have always posted my pictures of the progress of this bridge in the main OL thread. I also think there should be a thread for the west don crossing bridge between thorncliffe and flemington

I would prefer one thread for the Minton Portal and adjacent Don Valley Crossing Bridge as it's really one linked project. And yes, I've been posting on th OL thread, but there's a crane now.

It is a common mistake, but it is actually Seton Park, not Seaton Park.

The bridge looks very underwhelming….I mean for functionality it gets a 10/10 and I suppose to keep costs down they went with a simple design, but man….if they had the money, I nice iconic bridge overlooking the Don Valley and the Toronto skyline in the background would have been great.

Isn't that the West Don Crossing Bridge site by the (former) Science Centre? It probably needs a thread, too
It is the west don crossing. I thought you said a couple posts up it should be one thread?

They said the Don Valley Crossing, which will run adjacent to the Millwood Bridge. This is more than a KM from the West Don Crossing.

Having said that, the Don Valley Crossing and West Don Crossings are lumped in with Thorncliffe Park Station for Metrolinx community meetings and construction updates

Here's an update on the both crossings and the portal.

Bottom of Overlea looking towards the Don Valley Crossing and Minton Portal way in the distance. Notice they've now demolished the North sidewalk and surrounding area for where the guideway will go.

^Well...that answers what's blocking our trail there @abp10...

...also, I am now more convinced the anti-erosion reinforcement of the Don River West Branch here was apart of this project. Not a separate thing which I once thought.
