Noticed that OCADU had tweeted the other day about the Sharp Centre turning 20 this year - which I knew was incorrect, as classes were in session in the fall of 2024. Then realized, holy crap - it IS 20 years old now. The school would be in year 3 if it applied and got in.
It’s become an icon now, don’t think I’ve heard anyone call it ugly in ages (still wonder about how it would have gone with that orange and blue they first proposed).
Twenty years later is it still one of, if not the biggest swing this city’s seen? Have folks been inside? King Toronto and Aqualuna are beauties, but is anyone going to compete with a Dalmatian table top any time soon? Rip Will Alsop.
