Oakwood

I think we'll need more critical mass of population brought on new developments. We're starting to see more growth in surrounding micro-nodes such as the midrises at St. Clair & Winona, recently completed and in the pipelines buildings at Dufferin & Eg, and the Vaughan Road corridor. But there is potential to improve as Oakwood and Vaughan is a retail strip for activity among the greater area converges. There's been some momentum in recent years beginning with Primrose Bagels, Nonna Lia, and Taco Fuego on Vaughan Rd which was opened by someone who I used to work with.

I’m usually being cutesy when I say ‘Oakwood is the new Ossington’ but now I’m wondering!
Nah. Still has a very Portuguese feel. Maybe in 10 years the hipsters will discover it and transform it.

Now that the LRT is open, getting here is effortless! Taken 28 March.

Not yet, but with Belém (of College St fame) now open on Oakwood it is getting closer. For now it is the ‘new’ Dundas West!

Where is the Belem? I don't see it in your pictures. I hope they can replicate the wonderful interior of their College location here since this shabby strip could really use something nice for a change...
