The subject matter in my following two photo threads will be based on the area northwest of downtown Toronto (roughly bounded by St.Clair, Oakwood/Ossington, Bloor, and the Georgetown Rail Line). This is the area that I grew up and lived in for most of my life. I have highlighted interesting places, and buildings, and also places of significance throughout my life. (Photos were taken on different days/trips so not every photo will be in exact geographical order) Enjoy.

For my other photos, please check out my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/roxxstarr/

Part I will focus on the half, south of Dupont.

St. Anthony`s Church. Their school is a few blocks away, and back in the day was one of the neighbourhood rivals of my elementary school.

This Church is supposed to be another loft conversion. But in the mean time, is creepy as hell.

The Bloor Gladstone Library has been beautifully restored. The interior and modern addition look great.

Sounds like a classy place

Yeah...that was my first reaction too. Until I remembered it was also a buddhist symbol. So I guess we can all relax, as it isn`t an Eastern faction of Nazi revivalism.

This is pretty cool. This Green Bin (for organic household waste) has melted and fossilized LOL.

We could use a few more of these modern loft buildings in my hood.

For newly built rowhouses, these aren`t bad. If they were closer to the sidewalk, and didn`t have that rooftop element, they look almost authentic historical.

Great photos. Quite a neighborhood. Especially like the first photo of old City of Toronto No 7 police station at Ossington subway. Knew a fellow who was an officer there in its heyday after the war.
