Welcome to Toronto!
I'm in the Junction area (West Toronto 15 min. transit ride from/to downtown), we have the anual Junction Arts Festival (lasts 1 weekend in September) which is ALWAYS looking for new artists to rent tables/booths (very reasonable prices considering the traffic), here's their info:

You really should move to my area, it's teeming with artists, galleries, many local businesses LOVE displaying neighbourhood artists, lot's of people with dogs and kids too, it's like a small town within a city
