Too bad about the lost pinnacles flanking the pediment on St. Lawrence Market and the loss of the shed over Front St and the north market building. Of course, too bad too about the loss of that block of buildings on the east side of Jarvis and their unworthy successor, Time Square, though I realize the former was cleared long before the advent of the latter. On the other hand, glad that most of St. Lawrence Market has been preserved as well as St. Lawrence Hall in its entirety.August 6 addition.
