York Region Transit staff have approached Presto with suggestions regarding the negative card balance/unblocking the card and Presto has agreed to revise the process so that cards with a negative balance can be unblocked through remote methods (phone and/or website); however, this isn't likely to be resolved in the near future.
We have been pursuing other locations for sales and reloading Presto cards throughout York Region. Several businesses have been approached and we hope to have equipment installed and personel trained within the next month. One of the proposed sites is the Newmarket terminal, so hopefully, this will be a more convenient site for customers in the north end of York Region to re-load their cards.
As for your suggestions for different payment options, these types of changes are beyond the control of YRT, but I will forward your comments & suggestions to the Presto office for them to take into consideration in planning future improvements.
