Did anyone get charged a service activation fee for their internet? ($14.95)? I was under the impression that with the promotion, all activation fees would be waived...

I think it shows up initially when you first sign up but it shouldn't be on your first bill as everthing is free for the first 3 months except for a $2.99 digital service fee for TV if you are renting a digital box.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I've gotten all of my first 'bills' already - both the cable and land line show a break down of charges & minus charges equalling to 0 (including the $2.99 digital service fee for the TV) for the promotion, however I just got my internet bill and while the service itself has been set to 0 for the promotion, the service activation fee is listed as a full charge of $14.95

I just wanted to see if anyone else was being charged before I called up Rogers. Thanks!

Service charge is valid.

I have had 3 bills so far and no fees should be charged at all. just give them a call and they will refund you no problem.

Thanks Flaco7, GPalltheway,

I just called Daliah and she's confirmed that all fees including the $2.99 digital service fee and $14.95 service activation fee should be waived for the 3 month promo.

I met up with one of the builder's mortgage specialist in the sales office a week or so ago, and she mentioned that things are on schedule for the buildings to be registered by sometime in November. I also asked her about closing costs - mentioning that I was told before that about 3% of the purchase price should be put aside - and she did some of her own quick calculations and she assured me that 3% is "more than enough".

I'm hoping I can take her word for it - seeing as how she's working directly with the builder and their lawyers so she's probably in the know... :/
