Leslieville / Studio District

Big news (for me)! It looks like Laurier has set up an Archaeology Field School on this property.

Warning: Content below is purely speculation!

And hopefully the beginning of something more! A Leslieville Campus? There is a school behind that might have an empty classroom or ten?! Maybe a smart addition? There is a TTC building across the street.

Can’t find the Eastern Avenue thread so it’s here. More incremental increases in retail/services on Eastern Avenue as more development happens on the side streets between it and Queen East.

‘Eastern is the new Geary!’ 😂

I live in Leslieville but it's 'Too far' according to some of my downtown friends.

Others have called Leslieville 'homeless chic'

Leslieville is sort of like a sleepier version of West Queen West, mixed in with some Liberty Village vibes for the converted warehouses along Carlaw and Eastern. And a bit like the Junction with how it's mostly linear retail in generally nicer historical buildings blending in with residential side streets. I like it but as a westender, it does feel a bit disconnected and takes some effort to reach. I've always found the area pleasant, but not quite happening enough to be a destination.
