King and Queen West Streetcar lines.

So, first off, on lane restrictions, Queen currently has none, yes King has those signs, though I thought the by-law was repealed, in any event, the are not now, nor have they ever been enforced.
Given that there are studies in the past done on the effect of enforcement on traffic and streetcar movements along King, then your staetement that they have never been enforced is wrong; or else such studies would not exist.

Hence the TTC's desire for physically separated ROWs.
Or perhaps it could be that the study showed that when there was enforcement, that the congestion created was such, that there was no apparent improvement to streetcar service.

But police then have to nit pick, where this is no demarcated left hand turn lane, how soon are you legally allowed to enter the track lane, before making your turn (not specified on any sign).....
What police tell people along the Don Mills and other bus HOVs is that you can move into the right-hand lane, after you pass the intersection before the one you want to turn at. So it's when you pass through an intersection in the HOV lane that you have broken the law. Personally, I'm often on Don Mills, and the HOV lanes there not only seem to be generally working, you do see enforcement occasionally ... and you also see buses going faster than the stuck traffic.
