Found this link on another forum and tried the test. It's one of the better IQ tests I've seen. Set aside an hour or so; there's no time limit.

I'm curious to see how people here do, as the site where I found it has, IMO, a much lower level of discourse, and I think the results (posted by a few brave souls) reflected that.

The ones I suck at are the re-arrange the letters to form a word. I was lucky I got one, and guessed another, but the rest I had no clue.

I've taken tests with similar questions before, so I'm sure that skewed my results.

Clearly a flawed test.
 
A lot of those analogies are debatable.

And there is lots of culturally-specific knowledge - not a pure test of intelligence.
 
From your cynicism I take it you scored below 100?
 
I answered A for everything and got a 60. Then I answered all the questions on the first page right and put A for the rest and still got 60...I think there's only a few set scores given out.
 
130, I always get scores like that on online IQ tests. Yet when I took a real IQ test I got a 117, might not seem like much but that's a substantial difference.
 
The "rearrange letters to spell a kind of plant, river, etc." question is not a very good test of ability to reason. A good test of reason should consist of giving you all the information necessary to solve the puzzle.

Then again, tests like this are a bit skewed for people who have training in mathematics and logic/reasoning.

And from your meta-cynicism I take it you scored well above 140?
 
Come on now, the only IQ tests that matter are those wooden triangle pegboards you used to get at those Interstate HoJos. Y'know, 1 peg remaining = "GENIUS"
 
Leave only one you're genius
Leave two and you're purty smart
Leave three and you're just plain dumb
Leave four or more and you're just plain "eg-no-ra-moose"
