I recently became aware of a WWII radar site that was built on the edge of Scarborough Bluffs.
I had never before heard of that so it was a "must-see."
The building is now used by local government offices and is in the process of being designated as an 'historical site.'
To my dismay, there is little evidence of the original purpose other than a huge concrete block.

The view of the Lake however, is magnificent!

Gee, that is actually slightly more than what is left of Camp X in Oshawa!

It's great to find some vibrant colour downtown, isn't it Mustapha?
Some have previously mentioned that they abhor the exteriors of pizza places - but I love those colours!
And thanks for the reminder to use old lenses on new cameras.
I must try my "oldies" too.

Where was the swimming hole with the Tarzan swing taken Goldie? I only see one woman in a pink dress , no waldo.

This was taken 37 years ago - and I don't remember where, the Don River maybe?

I was going to comment earlier, that these pics have a decidley 70's feel!
Railroad tracks and a possible fork in the Don, I swam in that river lots of times, give me some time and I may be able to pinpoint this location.
Our swimming holes were behind the Science centre, Flemingdon park golf course, and further up near Sunnybrook.

Would you or anybody know what used to be south of Wynford and West of the D.V.P. in your photo? There is an Ismaili Center and Museum being built there at the moment. Also , may I "borrow" some or maybe all of your photos for the facebook site "I grew up in Don Mills?. Thant you sir Goldie.

This is a question for Goldie, who may have specific info, but also for anyone else who may know and want to share.

A friend of mine recently got his hair cut at a shop on Donlands that is part of the same building that houses the old Donlands Theatre. It was alleged to him that the building has a tunnel, possibly under the sidewalk, that connects the shops. Is this true, and is there any indication what the original purpose of the tunnel was?
