They're all incredibly good, but "Spadina N. from Queen" is extra special. It tells a story. It's kinetic. Did you perchance use a polarity filter on that?

Thanks, steveintoronto.
No polarizing filter.
I always carry one with me, but often neglect to use it.

Took me a while to figure out what it is that I see, and I'm not completely sure on this, but I'm Old School film, digital came well after my heyday, and what digital seems to offer is the 'edge' of grainy shots, without losing the detail (resolution permitting).

In fact, all you shots show it, along with an almost endless depth of field, and it is akin to using a polarizing filter even if glare isn't an issue, by polarizing it usually adds that 'defined edge' as well as soften background.

But now I read on Photoshop, anything is possible post production:
http://www.wikihow.com/Polarize-an-Image-Using-Photoshop

Next thing you know, they'll put a man on the Moon...with a Hasselblad!

Some of these digital shots blow me away, but I do still long to try and reproduce some of the B&W shots in the "Then and Now" string. With a view camera...and emulsion film.

Do you ever work with film?

Good luck for your proposed work with film.
Especially view camera-size sheet film.
You'll have to process it yourself since almost all of the processing labs have disappeared. Of course, that can be fun if you like darkroom work.
That's why I haven't used film for more than 15-20 years.
I'd love to use my film cameras occasionally, but it's just too much trouble to find a nearby lab.
And we must not forget that digital is essentially cost free!
I shot, processed and printed all my film for about 40 years, then relied on professional labs.
Most are gone now -- even Walmart no longer processes film!
Nothing wrong with shooting and developing film if you enjoy the process.

P.S. I make it a practice of getting my best images printed on photo-paper so that they'll still be viewable after the "bits & bytes" files vanish into cyberspace ---- as, I'm afraid, is inevitable!

Thanks for asking and please excuse the long answer.
