Globe: Against the environmentalist, aesthetes have no hope

These new lights are a fairly cold blue, much colder than any household compact fluorescent. They've been installed in a lot of streets in Cobourg and the light is 5000 K. Supposedly LEDs can be any colour you want, so you'd think they'd make them in the 2700 range, which is what incadescent lights are.

I'm from Cobourg, love the new lights. They installed them on my street a couple months back. They lighting is very natural.

I'm also nervous about the blue tinge of LEDs, but it's not that severe. I have LED garden lights which are extremely energy efficient, and the light does look natural. LEDs can mean that the acorns can be saved along with the energy, which is important.
