i wonder what shape the 3rd floor is in today...The building is still there.
Things are a lot lighter up there now, levitating in fact, and there's a fourth floor, so any damage must have been remediated: (I'm only writing half in jest, usual procedure if structural damage is minimal is to de-rate the floor loading capacity)i wonder what shape the 3rd floor is in today...
From the top of the Temple Building, 1913. I think the tall building in the distance is the CPR Building at King and Yonge.View attachment 131767
I can answer that question. The mysterious man is my paternal grandfather, C.J.B. (Charles John Benedictus) Howard, an Ontario Land Surveyor with an interest in engineering and construction (based on what he photographed and sketched after arriving in Canada from Germany in 1906). He might have been interested in the Temple Building as Toronto’s first skyscraper.I'm continually struck by the mysterious nature of this photo.
Who was he and why was he at the top of the Temple Building?
