Department Store Woes (Sears, HBC, Ailes)

Compare it to Montreal, where there are five department stores (La Baie, Les Ailes, Holt's, Simons, Ogilvy)

All within a few blocks too!

Well I guess we just have to keep going to NY, Chicago or Montreal for the great department store experience. Shopping state-side is a pretty good deal right now with the exchange rate and considering the fact that Canadian retailers still don't seem to be adjusting their pricing for the strong Canadian dollar. Our money goes much farther there than here now, go figure!

I love how "Walmart is urging suppliers to lower prices"! They litterally will hold the hand of Canadian Companies to transport all the mfging to China to do this. Take a look a Rubbermaid a few years back to see what happens when you don't play ball.

I noticed yesterday that The Bay has taken to flying the HBC Ensign (ie, the British Red Ensign with the HBC initials in the fly) on the Simpson Tower.
