The Star's wine critic praising Costco over some of the wines they are offering and their value pricing:
Carolyn Evans Hammond: Costco is selling wine. (It’s cheaper than the LCBO!) Our wine critic shares 6 picks
Our wine critic hit her local store this morning to scout out the selection and find her favourites.www.thestar.com
OF note, the six wines she lightlights are all priced below LCBO price, generally around ~10% less, though in one case, closer to ~20% off. So far as I understand the current pricing regime, that means Costco is more or less selling many wines at-cost.
I wonder if they will do the same with beer prices? Too bad they can't carry hard liquor. I actually like the Kirkland Tequila. Of course a one liter bottle of tequila in the US at Costco is like 30 bucks or less.
