Computer purchase advice please

16GB is fairly standard - but your pricepoint is aggressive. My suggestion is - if she doesn't need it now, wait for a year.
We bought this one last night at Costco.
Was $200 off, so paid $799. After our $280 rebate cheque for 2019's annual purchases the total with tax was under $600. 12 GB of Ram and 512 GB solid state hard drive should meet my daughter's pc needs for the next four years or so as she enters university in Sept 2021. She's pretty happy right now, having moved from the Dell mini tower I bought third hand at a office surplus re-seller.

I've never seen 12 GB of Ram before, usually it's 8GB or 16B, so I assume they've cheaped out on the internals, probably a regular 8GB module and some surplus 4GB parts Acer had laying about.
