CN Tower announces base expansion

I really wish the CN tower was clad in something...

Save this for next year's April Fool's... CN Tower clad in an office tower.

Can they not paint the cement grey, white, or a tan colour? It looks unfinished and as if it hasn't been maintained.

No! It must not be changed to another colour!
I've thought this too but I think it could become a maintenance nightmare over time. I wonder if a contractor couldn't match the shade of the original concrete and paint the lower areas, say, the bottom half which have areas where the concrete has been repaired? It shows it's age when up close, yet looks as majestic as ever from a distance. Perhaps local artists could be employed to paint and match the repaired areas. Job requirement: must not be afraid of heights.

The Eiffel Tower is painted every 7 years with 50-60tonnes of paint in order to protect it from rust. They don't paint it the same colour everytime either.
I agree though that some of the patches aren't done very well and could use a touch up.

Well, I don't mean a completely different colour. Something very close to the colour of it now. Maintenance would be an issue though. I'm confident the paint would eventually chip off, no? How about grey stucco :)

Anyone thinking along the lines of the recent work on the chimney by Sick Kids?
