hehe, it was my idea to give that cape to Hazel back during Canada Day 2000as a gift from the Organizing Committee. Someone actually lost it one year and she wasn't pleased with the staff.

This summer we are going to present her a skateboard on behalf of the city's youth. I'm going to try to get her on it as that would be an awesome photo opportunity!

As for Barney the Safety Beaver, I love that guy! I recall riding the TTC one day as a kid and this driver at the Pape Subway Station gave me this HUGE colouring book with Barney riding the TTC system. I'm sure I still have it in storage somewhere.

I believe GO Transit still uses a safety bear.
