Jarvis to Scott, king to Front is in complete lock down. We even got kicked out of our building. Word is they found a suspicious package in front of pizza pizza or flatiron. Shape of things to as G20 approaches.

Yup, the city's definitely going to be on edge until the G20 is finished. Photographers should tread carefully over the next few weeks, especially in the security zone.

A neighbour said the same thing happened in Chinatown this afternoon. They are training for the real thing. I guess that explains the lack of media, fire trucks, ambulances and the bomb squad. Did they really have to kick us out of our building for this?

i don't understand, do you mean this is a training exercise by security or a dry run by terrorists?

One of the key elements of the training is the ability to quickly and efficiently evacuate any threatened buildings. I imagine evacuating you was an important part of the exercise (if it was an exercise)......anyone who needs to be evacuated for real (and I hope that is no one) will be happy they have honed their skills.

The "suspicious package" was a white gift box sitting on the gray mailbox on the south side of Front just southeast of the park. It seemed stupid and if it is a just a hoax concocted by the police, than it is even more stupid.

Wow. They really think the **** will hit the fan do they? You should've seen the Israeli/Palestinian standoff this afternoon at Bloor and Avenue Rd: it was hilarious! Two immature media hogging groups screaming at each other while the rest of us got on with our day. The only thing I wondered--where were the Canadian flags?

Why does it feel like night today?
Something in here's not right today.
Why am I so uptight today?
Paranoia's all I got left
I don't know what stressed me first
Or how the pressure was fed
But I know just what it feels like
To have a voice in the back of my head
Like a face that I hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time I lie
A face that laughs every time I fall
(And watches everything)

So I know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is hearing me
Right beneath my skin

It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

The concierge came on the speaker and told us to leave. The police learning how to tell the concierge to tell us to leave?

Obviously I was not there and don't know how smoothly it went but it sounds like there was nothing learned there. That said, if for some reason some people did not leave then they would have had to act.
