Have you tried Fort York in the foreground or framing the sides, looking east towards downtown? Experiment alternating between telephoto and wide-angle lens for your right look.

one of my favourite views is from the middle of the Royal York Ave. bridge that goes over the Gardiner.....the cluster of Humber Bay buildings allows a peek of the core through the middle of them....the scale of the Humber buildings makes the city seem huge and frames downtown. Also, you get the buildings north of the core.

Since it is a film, use the month of the Humber River from the just east of sewage treatment plant, south down under the bridges, then turning east with the beach to the left and the breakwater to the right looking to downtown.

try panorama lounge in the manulife center. you will get most of the skyline from there

I find by far the most impressive skyline vantage point is coming westbound on the Gardiner from the DVP. It's especially awesome at night. Good luck getting a decent pic though.
