Wasaga Beach is transforming into massive redevelopment project of Area 1. It will be built between phases and it will be completed within three years.

This project will include with 500 residential units 150 hotel units and 31 commercial spaces.

Demolition is underway with construction will be started in spring 2025.

Sigh....

There's the basis of a really good idea here.............but key details are wrong.

You do not want a road between the new development and the Beach.

Beach Street should come out.

Loading, waste management and underground parking should either be accessed off the main road, or 1st Street.

**

Ideally, Mosley St. would be re-aligned towards the River. with parkland between the road and the river opposite this site.

I mean, a re-aligned road, would get rid of this junk:

This could then be a 40-100M wide strip of parkland land with a walking/bike trail:

So a little bittersweet here looks like they have finally come to an agreement or at least decided to demolish there wasaga Beach main end there was a plan announced a few weeks ago just hoping that these aren't being demolished for the main end to just sit empty for the next few years as it did after the fire

All demolition is nearly complete and holes have started in the ground 33 years of living this area and I actually never thought this project would get underway exciting to see can't wait till it all starts to shape up because the beachfront hasn't been the same since the fire.
In my personal opinion The fact that it was dragged out as long as it has was a big factor as to why wassaga Beach lost so much tourism

Dardanelle has been completely torn down for set of foundations are in the ground this is getting exciting

First phase of construction of the three-story units has begun with demolition happening throughout the rest of the plot was over there today and they have started to remove the remaining buildings The dyconia was demolished 3 weeks ago with the arcade and food trucks now locked off as well

Thought I post a few pictures of the old structures on Beach drive that were recently demolished (from February to June) and are now graded with sand.
