advice on security systems in Toronto

I just bought a condo and wanted to put in a security system, and have no ideas where to start. It is a townhouse style condo so it doesn't have the typical concierge and I'm on the ground floor. I've done some searching on Google and it seems like there are an endless array of security companies primed to take your business. I don't feel that comfortable signing a 3 year contract that most of these companies seem to want. In addition, none of these company's websites seem to want to give any information without you giving them your info and I'm sure they will do the hard sell. I understand installation runs from free to 400 to 500 dollars and monthly fees range from 10 to 40 dollars. Any advice on reputable companies that won't cost an arm and a leg? I've so far checked ADT, Alarm Force, Reliance, MHB. Thanks

Try The Monitoring Centre. Terrible name, but it seems to get pretty good reviews. It's a high upfront cost for equipment, but the monthly monitoring costs are low (prepaid annually).
