2024 United States presidential election

In post #444 of the President Joe Biden's United States of America thread, you wrote the following excerpt below, on December 22, 2022:
I'm astounded that anyone thought that Joe's mental acuity has been strong in recent years. He was an addled, incoherent, senile man before he even ran for president in 2020.
The New York Times, one week apart:
Good points. But he’s still the better of two binary options.

Seems like chances are tilting towards Kamala Harris being the Democratic nominee lol

Fundamentally the question really is- who wants to run against Trump? Vs running in 2028 on a clean slate.

If trump wins in '24, the '28 election will be just symbolic.

Jeez. Both sides gotta start picking people a little younger. 😁

Harris would be destroyed, Kim Campbell style, straight over a glass cliff. If you want to beat Trump the Dems need to field an immensely popular BIPOC woman, or a well spoken, straight, Gen-X white guy, sorry Pete, your time is not yet.

Enough with the seniors jokes. They're both past prime time, but this is all you have. Pick the the guy with a reasonable claim to integrity and forget the BS. This has become a media feeding frenzy.

While I agree that judging on age is neither 'fair' nor sensible the choice here is two fairly old guys, one lies and bullies and pays little attention to facts. The other is nice, has a good record and is generally 'right' BUT he is clearly aging rather poorly and at least in stressful situations cannot hold a thought. It is NOT too late for both parties to change their horses - only one MIGHT do so since in the other the horse has taken over the decision making.
