I noticed on the weekend that the Toronto Hydro building at 1860 St. Clair W. (just west of Old Weston Rd.) now has its chainlink fence obscured with fabric, and at least one of the windows is boarded up. Surely this building is no longer used now. I wonder if it will get liquidated and used for something else soon. A ton of other properties around it have plans an proposals already. That whole area will be vastly different in the not-too-distant future.

Hmmm.

Site is a bit small for a tower at ~ 10,000ft2 or just a bit under.

1850 adjacent to it is a TTC substation.

1862 on the other side seems unlikely to continue in its current form, and would probably add enough land for something interesting here.

Not currently designated/listed; though Mx thought of it as 'conditional heritage' when assessing the new Smart Trak station here.

Can't seem to find evidence for its decommissioning; though I can see why you would think it has been. (and it may well have, I just can't find the record for it)
