These may not be 100% accurate, but they should be at least in the ballpark:

YUS Downsview-Finch 974 m
BD Kipling-Kennedy 873 m
YUS Eglinton-Union 624 m
BD Keele-Woodbine 663 m
SRT Kennedy-McCowan 1280 m

501 Long Branch-Neville Park 264 m
504 Dundas W.-Broadview 239 m
510 Spadina-Union 303 m
512 St. Clair-Gunns 261 m
501 Dufferin-River St. 234 m
504 Dufferin-River St. 229 m

The YUS following the Spadina expressway is about one stop a km until Wilson, when it jumps about 2 km to Downsview. South of Eglinton, it's about 2.8 km to St. Clair, and then 800 m till Spadina. From there, it follows about a 450m average spacing up to B-Y, when it goes to 600m spacing between B-Y and St. Clair. From there, it's 1 km spacing (one station in between) St. Clair and Eglinton. Then it's 2 km up Yonge to Sheppard, with about 800 m between Sheppard and North York Centre, then 1.2 km until Finch.

On the B-D, it's a pretty consistent average of 650 m spacing until it hits Main St. From there, it's varied, but averages out 2 km over 3 stations (two of them being about equal in their deviance from the 2km.)

Throughout the forum, people have spent a considerable amount of time discussing what is adequate station spacing on subway lines. Does anyone have the official distances between stations, as published by the TTC, on the Y-U-S, the B-D, Sheppard, and SRT lines?

I can take reasonable estimates from Google Maps and/or Google Earth, but if somebody has the actuals that would be much appreciated.

Try this Google App: http://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-maps-distance-calculator.htm

SPADINA LINE
Downsview - Wilson = 2.006 km
Wilson - Eglinton West = 1 km between stops
Eglinton West - St Clair W = 2.627 km
St Clair W - Dupont = 1.271 km
Dupont - St George = 600 m between stops

UNIVERSITY- YONGE LINE
St George - Wellesley = ave. 400 m (south of Queen St) - 500 m (north of Queen St) between stops
Wellesley - St Clair = 700 m between stops
St Clair- Eglinton = 1.050 km between stops
Eglinton - Sheppard = 2.070 km between stops
Sheppard - NYC = 800 m
NYC - Finch = 1.3 km

BLOOR LINE
Kipling - Old Mill = 1.275 km between stops
Old Mill - Ossington = 700 m between stops
Ossington - Bay = 600 m between stops
Bay - Yonge = 346 m
Yonge - Broadview = 800 m between stops

DANFORTH LINE
Broadview - Coxwell = 600 m between stops
Coxwell - Main = 900 m between stops
Main - Victoria Park = 1263 km
Victoria Park - Kennedy = 2.4 km between stops

SCARBOROUGH RT
Kennedy - Ellesmere = 2 km between stops
Ellesmere - Midland = 650 m

Scarborough Centre - McCowan = 550 m

SHEPPARD LINE

Hope that helps.

The stop spacing on the Bloor-Danforth line is way too tight. Most rapid transit systems have stop spacing of about a kilometer average, closer in the CBD and further spaced out in the suburbs. The fact that the B-D line's stops are not much further spaced than those downtown is proof that they are too close together.

And before everyone says "oh, it is for local needs," that is what local buses/streetcars are for. Besides the fact that most subway passengers arrive at stations through feeders rather than walking, using subways for local transport is illogical because of the extra travel time required to navigate into and out of stations, compared to a bus which you just get on from the curb.
