Today (Saturday, Feb. 23), two cranes were deployed, one on Bloor and the other on Yonge, as workers dismantled the large signs on the roof.

Bloor+Yonge is going to be a madhouse when this building gets under way: dump trucks and mixers waiting for a green light. Pedestrians + heavy trucks. Yikes. I wonder if it'll hurt Stollery's business?

OMG its starting! I wonder how long I can hold my breath...
just as a side note, after this current building boom dies down the city should really put some effort into repaving the streets and fixing sidewalks! Somehow great gleaming buildings with crumbling infrastructure just doesnt sit well.
oh, and that giant snow globe is a nasty eye sore! whoever came up with that marketing gimmick should be demoted! and ya, I hate those new inflatable xmas decorations that take up whole front yards!

I believe the construction on Bloor in front of 1 Bloor E in the last photo is the beginning of the major makeover Bloor will be soon experiencing.
