Toronto The Quay, Tower Four | 66.4m | 21s | Pacific Reach | BDP Quadrangle

Thread posted today on BlogTO about this development: https://www.blogto.com/real-estate-toronto/2021/08/the-quay-toronto/ If nothing else, this development will make the drive down the Gardiner more interesting!

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Although people may disagree on specifics regarding height, station entrances, or stations themselves, I think we can all agree that getting it built is a HUGE priority and it needs to start as soon as possible. The rest can be solved later with sound barriers, compensation, renovations, etc...

I stand corrected and disregard my previous comment. I'll look into it more.

Nothing says elitism like passing a law that makes sure everyone near the place you work at can see it. Don't they realize just how stuck up they look when they make it so nothing can block the view of where they work?

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

That, combined with a congestion charge for downtown Toronto like what London, U.K has, would be pretty nice to see.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

If it was just a streetcar people wouldn't be mad since they know the pros and cons of them, with a very big pro being price that outweighs all the cons. However, this system will be a tough sell. Don't get me wrong I'm happy for any new transit line, but let's just hope the Ontario Line is a...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

At this price they better guarantee there'll be signal priority, or else I imagine after it fully opens there'll be lots of videos like the one linked recently of the LRT waiting at the lights going viral.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I imagine there'll be people calling it a glorified streetcar given the fact that it has to wait at the lights just like any car or bus would have to.

    Toronto 191 Bay | 301.74m | 64s | QuadReal | Hariri Pontarini

I think they'll get away with it in the eyes of the public if they just switch it with a radio tower like One World Trade Center in NYC did.

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

Once all 5 of the buildings are built it might look a bit better, though I'm not sure if the podium will benefit from looking fuller as a result.

You'd think city hall would promote artificial grass since it would conserve water (And not need to be cut, thus also saving fuel).

    Toronto One Front | 170.86m | 49s | Larco | a—A

The area it's in is the perfect place for densification, though. If we were a mid-sized American city with cheap housing I'd agree with you, but given just how expensive housing has gotten I think it's necessary for the project to go forward in its current form. Not to mention having two tall...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Thus adding even more delays to the economic benefits that'll be recognized by the subway line. Economic benefits come from both construction of the subway line and construction of higher density buildings around it. If any of the two get delayed (Former more likely to be delayed than latter)...

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Within a few years there's going to be a skyscraper canyon along that stretch of highway with the addition of Pinnacle One Yonge phase 1,2, and 3, and Sugar Wharf phase 1 and 2 (8 skyscrapers in total)

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

There comes a time when enough community consultation has been done, and I think we're already past that. If we want to retain any hopes of a 2030 opening, it is imperative that there's no more legal obstacles stopping construction from starting as planned. In the long run, we'll see that adding...

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I really hope they do, having a 100+ floor tower right in Downtown would be pretty nice (Even if it's just a few floors higher than it was originally planned to be)

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

After seeing what other cities have done over the past decade or so (Even some western ones) with even less funding, the Ontario Line is the least we can build to get up to speed and encourage development in the city.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

I really hope they do it since it feels like a not-too-expensive way to make the whole area look much nicer and friendlier (Especially since they're already building the bridge/park between the two buildings)

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

From the article: "In the letter from senior project manager Stewart, Cadillac Fairview says it “needs” to begin construction at the East Harbour transit hub in summer 2022 to meet the province’s 2026 deadline for opening." Any disputes have to take place before summer 2022, or else there'll...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Took this from their website, it's amazing just how much cognitive dissonance they're showing: "The community needs better access to transit and supports the Ontario Line. However, we cannot accept Metrolinx placing a train yard in our community."
