    Metrolinx: Bloor-Lansdowne GO Station

I believe a report from UoT came out stating that most of the cost escalation in Ontario come from government permits and the excessive use of 3rd party consultants for design, engineering, and consultations with the public.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Here is an idea. How about we add bidirectional cycle tracks on the grass shoulder or a multi use trail to replace the sidewalk. Then there is a safe way to bike walk and drive. Make some road alterations near intersections to improve safety in the statistical most dangerous points in travel. I...

    Roads: Traffic Signals

I think that the dedicated left turn signals should have red, yellow, and green arrows instead of solids. Makes it more clear what that signal is for. Besides such signals are seen in most jurisdictions, why not ontario?

    Canadian Highway Fantasy Thread

I love your ideas for connecting Ontario. bravo. I wish the government would focus on these instead of the 413 or enlarging existing highways to 24 lanes. Keep up the excellent work.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Well an example of what I mean would be the prince edward / bloor viaduct. Most people would know what I am referring too, and would be able to picture it in their head. It is an iconic bridge that was top engineering at the time. Versus don mill overpass. No one know what I'm talking about, as...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

honestly i think the upgrade would cost up to 200 million more on a 11 billion dollar project. Yes its more but this value engineering iconic structures is an Ontario thing. I have travelled around Canada and Europe and they put an effort where building, at least adding some colour and making a...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I feel like a structure similar to the Ulla Estuary viaduct in Spain would be more inspiring (coloured steel not toronto grey), have a low pier count, and preform better in wind. As it would use a steel structure instead of the concrete wall that is proposed.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Well, I feel like they could have used faux or real stone/ concrete designed piers with black steel arches. Similar to the bloor viaduct with longer arches. It would compliment the bloor bridge and look very nice. It's not an issue with modern engineering just a lack of vision and toronto's...

    Canadian Highway Fantasy Thread

One can only dream of a unified national highway signage in canada.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

honestly they should just build a bi-directional cycle track with a 4 meter width. It would be a better use of the limited space, as you could consolidate the buffers space into one.

Wyecroft Rd Extension & Bridge Project (Halton / Oakville / Burlington)

sorry, how are the on street bike gutters, protected? The paint wont do much with the cyclist between the vehicles and a concrete wall. Easily could have had the bike lane on the other side of the concrete wall with pedestrians, but seems Halton region is 20 years behind Toronto.

Bruce Power: New Nuclear Generation Capacity

Yes, but the Pickering reactors are smaller than the ones at Darlington or Bruce. The Pickering Block A reactor each had around 500Mw of power production. The ones in Darlington produce 878 Mw. That's why the refurbishment was initially cancelled. The Pickering reactors were to small to justify...

Bruce Power: New Nuclear Generation Capacity

Id say just build new ones. They are so old they are shutdown now.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

where did you find the station renderings. I curious to see the other stations as well

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

There you go. That's the interchange plan. I was looking at it today as I though underpinning the station met it would be shallower, but its not.

Dundas West/ Bloor Mobility Hub +interconnected hub network (Metrolinx)

SO i would agree, but once the Ontario line is extended west. Odds are high there would be a station there, which is why i would rather save that name for the future. Roncesvalles is not near the current station. The street ends just before, and them "heart" of the neighbourhood is further south.

Dundas West/ Bloor Mobility Hub +interconnected hub network (Metrolinx)

They have an opportunity to rename and unify both stations. TTC and metrolinx should just name it West Bend station or Junction triangle station. Both of the neighborhoods are adjacent to the rail corridor. Naming stations after neighbors/land marks is the best way moving forward as the amount...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

MTO can always update a standards to have rural highway and urban highway standards. Land is expensive and having 14 meters on either side sit vacant is fine in a rural context. In a city it's a waste of resources and potential tax revenue. Build it an people will buy as has been seen with all...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Yes they should 100%. Something smiliar to the Morriston bypass design. 2 lanes in both directions with concrete medium. Access roads on the side and grade separate. MTO has to stop with the either they build a super highway with a 100m ROW or nothing at all.
