Sharing some images from Bathurst Quay Common’s opening ceremony (first 7 photos in this batch courtesy of Ron Jenkins), plus some shots from me of Nuit Blanche crowds the following night and a few of the park from over the last few days (this and second post). We’ve been delighted with the...

We haven’t forgotten about your light, @bgobgo ! 😉 A note about Friday’s opening: in order to make this space open and available for Nuit Blanche attendees on Saturday, we’re proceeding with a phased opening of about 75% of Bathurst Quay Common this weekend, with the balance to follow in...

Some update photos from today. Looking at an early October opening for Bathurst Quay Common. Looking forward to seeing the ‘sun deck’ (nearly complete as seen here) with its moveable furniture in place, and the Corleck’s new windows and doors installed.

Gratitude to the UT’ers who were able to join one of our Doors Open tours this weekend, and also for saying hello. Special thanks to @rdaner for dropping off pastries! If anyone is interested in a hard hat tour behind the scenes, the TSA is organizing a Corleck/Bathurst Quay Common/silo tour on...

    Toronto Spadina Pier Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto

It’s not a perfect analogy, but consider the differences in monitoring/maintaining/repairing the foundation of a house with a finished versus unfinished basement. Similarly, absent public access and/or commercial uses inside the existing structure, there are simpler methods available to maintain...

The intent below grade is that it become a restricted access space solely for routing and maintaining the utilities that service the new park and the existing marina. We will also explore the feasibility of re-purposing part of the space for park maintenance/storage uses. So the structure will...

Yes! The PFR consultation team is hosting a ‘pop-up’ consultation booth both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, generally (weather permitting/contingent) between 11am and 4pm. Intent is to take advantage of foot traffic from Doors Open, much as we did for an identical ‘pop-up’ event during last...

@70Challenger is right on. There’s a number of reasons for the uneven texture in certain places. First of which is the original construction method, since the silos were formed and poured in layers. So there have always been distinct horizontal bands of varying tones and textures which you can...

Big concrete pour on Wednesday for Bathurst Quay Common’s water’s edge terrace. We’ll start to strip the formwork on Monday, followed by structural steel and Silva cells (for the trees to be planted in/through the deck) installation. All leading up to start of carpentry work in May.
