    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Not sure where this belongs but since the single use plastic ban is Federal I am putting it here. Walmart is starting a limited subscription reusable bag recycling program. Sign-up is required however it is limited. I am glad to see the issue of what to do with all the reusable bags is being...

The seemingly terminal decline of Tim Hortons

Apparently Tim's corporate office failed to consider the impacts of the pizzas on Drive-Thru operations. According to a presumed employee on Reddit, the things take forever to make and are causing issues at the Drive-Thru. Unlike McDonalds, Tim's does not have places for people to sit and wait...

    Toronto events and festivals

With Doors Open it also has to do with the individual property owners permitting access to their sites. You are correct though. TD Centre, Commerce Court, and others were worth the visit. Back in the day, they even had the King Eddy Crystal Ballroom opened and prior to redevelopment some of...

    Toronto Eaton Centre

If it is like most other places, it will be for Uber, Skip, Door Dash, etc. Generally places want to separate food delivery apps from the general line so they create a specific area for them to pick up. McDonalds in Yorkville is like there where they have an outdoor pickup window for couriers.

    Toronto events and festivals

The list of buildings participating in Doors Open Toronto is out! I took a quick look at the list and quite frankly, I am severely underwhelmed. If this is the complete list, it has gone to hell this year. Most of the old favorites like the TD Centre, FIrehall 227, U of T (other than the...

The seemingly terminal decline of Tim Hortons

I can see the issues now. No doubt people with every dietary restriction from Jain food to Veganism will want a customized pizza. I hate to say it but I expect someone to be raising a stink over how Tims cannot accomodate them.

In the same vein, I can see this ending like McPizza in that it takes so much time to make that it gums up the works.

Quebec and Alberta might as they are against everything Ottawa suggests. Quebec may try making the case that it would hurt tourism in Quebec City and Montreal. Alberta may come back and say that it will hurt tourism in Calgary and Edmonton or that it would impact housing in the oil and gas sector.

Can they even restrict STRs or is that a jurisdictional issue? I assumed that STRs would be municipal or at most, provincial.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

London, UK is facing this situation now with the Bakerloo Line and their 1972 Stock. The Bakerloo is currently using trains which are 52 years old and are less than reliable. Like here, there is talk of replacing them but the money is not there so they keep them going as long as they can...

The seemingly terminal decline of Tim Hortons

Not only that but I've yet to see Tim's get a food order correct or make it presentable. I shudder to think what these pizzas will come out looking like.

    Square One Shopping Centre

It may be because they are trying to compete with CF Markville just up the road at McCowan and 7. It is a similar situation to Square One and Sherway. Markville has a Sleep Country in it, they have a Walmart and they also have a myriad of useful upscale stores. STC has always been more of a...
