Damn, I guess they are planning to move the houses to the front of the lots like they have for many other nearby projects. It’s definitely bold.

I really like the podium. Its dark, clunky and visually interesting. The glass on this looks great, but I would have been into seeing a taller built form with this type of treatment. It has some almost brutalist vibes.

    Toronto Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

This tower is boring AF from a distance, and has a very unfortunate podium, but as someone who walks by it often I must point out that looking UP at it from the immediate block or 2 away the balconies geometric shape does offer interest. Its a shame they used clear cladding for the balconies...

The substation and parking lot I have long thought were prime to go, I’m surprised the rental towers have had applications first.

    Vaughan Festival Condominiums | 189.05m | 59s | Menkes | Arcadis

Saw these in person for the first time a couple weeks back. Particularly impressive when driving into the city south bound on the 400. They really stand out as there are practically no mid rise buildings, just houses, parking lots and a bunch of new tall towers.

Over the last few days. I’m terrible at remembering to post photos until a thread gets bumped and reminds me.

There are still a lot of people living in many of the existing buildings on the site. I would imagine it would take some time to get this started.
