Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

I was given a Jan. 10, 2009 occupancy date back in the fall...that still hasn't changed, although I am skeptical since I am on the 5th floor and I have been hearing that people on lower floors have been given later move in dates?! Doesn't make sense.... It's been rather challenging getting...

Edge Lofts (625 Queen East, Streetcar, 6s, Quadrangle) COMPLETE

According to the final site plan documents filed with the City of Toronto, attached, the retail patio is to go on the west side of the building, next to the Don Roadway and DVP. I guess the idea is that the new landscaping will provide something of a buffer from all the DVP traffic noise!

Riverside Towns (was Leslieville Lofts, Hyde Pk/Lamb Dev, 140-162 Broadview, 3s, ?)COMPLETE

Too bad about the lofts being scrapped. I think it would've looked way nicer than town houses, which in Toronto usually means faux-Victorian with aluminum siding. Hopefully BJL will come up with something better than the norm. I wonder if people who bought in the cancelled project lost...

Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

Thanks, Queen. Glad to hear things worked out reasonably well. Good luck with the exciting purchase! BTW - from what I understand, builders are usually eager to sell the first 60 - 70% of a building because they must hit that target for sales in order to get financing (to build the condo)...

Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

Hey Queenwestres I bought at Edge back in July 2006. They have delayed occupancy a number of times since: from March, to July, to September and now January 2009. The building does seem to be dragging on; it's been a few months since they dismantled the crane but it seems not a whole lot has...

Westside Gallery Lofts (Urbancorp) - Real Estate -

What a bunch of evil bastards the Developers are. How do they get away with that crap? This sort of thing cries out for consumer protection legislation for home buyers.

    Toronto Parc - Loft Residences on King West | ?m | 10s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

I am not sure if anyone has gone by the site on a summer's day, but it is very close to an abbatoir on wellington and the stench can be quite nasty...I believe it is a pig slaughterhouse. Anyone thinking about buying there should take that into account. I've played softball at the park and go...

Thanks, I found it! I also ended up watching the entire season of Big City Broker in the process. It all seemed a little obnoxious, but I guess they gotta play up the attitude for TV.

Do you recall which episode it was? I tried viewing the episodes of the show on HGTV.ca but could not find it :(

Argos, thanks for the offer. I am curious about prices, as I need to know how much I can budget! I am thinking about stuff like hardwood floor, kitchen counters, glass enclosure for the shower and gas line for the patio. I have heard that sometimes developers gouge you for upgrades and it may...

Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

Argos, I am a buyer, but don't have my consulation till the end of February. Take a look at the disclosure. From what I recall, there were rules stipulating that window coverings have to be white on the outside. As for installing your own during interim occupancy, again, take a look at the...

Does anyone have experience with parking/locker combos? I got one but can't really visualize how those work. Is there enough room to store a bike? Can you access the locker with a car in the parking spot? I would like to rent out the parking spot, but would like to use the locker and am...

Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

Hey kdub, I just checked the Disclosure Statement - they mention the inclusion of "noise control features" in the development and within the units, but continue with the ominous warning that "noise levels from increasing road traffic and transit operations, will continue to be of concern...

We are also first time buyers, and another 2 years savings would likely mean we missed the boat on living in such a wonderful neighborhood. Howdy, neighbours-to-be!

    Early 2009 Completion Dates

Give West Side Lofts a shot. They should be in that price range and occupancy (last time in checked in May) would be May 2009. There is also a project called Glas on King and Spadina, which is a bit more expensive. I think their occupancy is May 2009 (however, I understand that they will be...

Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

yes, I hear you. The location leaves much to be desired, and will be noisy. At least I am facing away from the DVP (East). Why did I buy? I liked the building mostly. Also, I wanted a change of scenery from CityPlace where I am renting (Hahaha...so I should be used to noise and highway...

Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

I agree - the DVP view is generally not that nice to look at, although it provides a good night time view of the downtown skyline. I got a unit facing the other way (west) because the DVP side is very, very noisy (actually, the whole area is quite noisy due to the queen streetcars going up/down...

Edge Lofts Condos (Streetcar Development) - Real Estate -

I am first-timer who just bought there. I am curious to see who else has bought, what their experiences have been, and what they liked about the development. I liked the small size of the building (6 floors), modern architecture, and simple amenities. I also liked the large balconies on...
