Hum… no heritage building was demolished in Chinatown in the last 20 years that I know of, except one by a fire. Also there is no such thing as an art district in Montreal. Maybe you are referring to the Quartier des spectacles, where every single new développement in the last 20 years were on...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I'm reading this and I'm genuinely trying to understand how corruption could have played a bigger role in Montreal's lack of transit investments in the last decades, compare to lack of political will, and I don't get it. It seems to me that you are blaming every shortcomings in Montreal's...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

Hum, I think you haven't been to Montreal in a long time. Going from McGill to Old Montreal would mean that you walk Sherbrooke street from west to east, then Union south to Phillips Square, then down Beaver Hall, which ends in beautiful Victoria Square in Old Montreal, from there you can...

Saks Fifth Avenue Flagship (Queen & Yonge)

The delay for some large chains to open shop in Montreal has less to do with the market's potentiel (luxury or not) than with law 101. H&M and Banana Republic, for exemple, opened late in the province because they first had to establish a translation department for all their literature, be it...

    Tiffany glass in Toronto

The largest collection of Tiffany windows outside the US are the 20 windows in Montreal's Erskine and American United Church, which has been converted into a concert hall, part of the Museum of Fine Arts. The MBA also has one of the largest collection of Tiffany's work anywhere...

Toronto Festival Tower and tiff Bell Lightbox | 156.96m | 42s | Daniels | KPMB

(...)It could have been a poetic work touched by the sultry light of Atom Egoyan’s films. The exterior might have been sculpted as a vessel of drama, made gritty and raw as Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men. There might have been elements of unsettling surprise, the way Wim Wenders amazed...

    Not a 24 Hour City

What about the village/Church street aera? Surely there must be places there opened 24h, like in Mtl's village.

    Montreal: Canada's most American city?

Very well put Shon. @Long Island Mike There is not that much tension anymore between English and French in Montreal. This is very much a media thing fed by some extremists on both camps. Most Montrelers have evolved beyond that.

    Montreal: Canada's most American city?

Montrealers hate the French? Talk about a gross generalisation. That would be exactly like saying that Torontonians hate the British. Some of us have some problems with snob Parisians, but who doesn't on this planet, including non-Parisian French themselves?

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

That's probaly true. Honnestly, when I take the train for Toronto, I don't pay much attention to the platforms here or there. I use them only for the two or three minutes it takes to go from the main hall into the train. But the main hall is where I spend my time waiting before boarding the...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Ouf. Ok, here I have to disagree. Union Station has to be the most depressing train station of any big NA cities. No place to eat anything other than a bag of chips or a bad coffee... the place is dark and looks decrepit compare to Gare Centrale.
