    Cool Bars/Clubs?

Well, I've been in Toronto for just over 6 weeks and loving the city! Thanks to everyone for tips on things to do in the city. Haven't done them all yet, but i'm seeing a lot. Anyway, I have some really good friends coming over to visit at the end of October, and I was hoping for some...

From my window, it definately looks like the crane is coming down. There is a blue crane right next to it (and its not the window washing crane) and it looks like its being dismantled. (and Woop - my first post that is live from the ground in Toronto!! Yeah!!)

    Any Rooms to Let?

Tartu? Not really sure what that is. I think your right with the Victorian home idea. I'm 30, and I've found a few places on craigslist that sound really nice and in nice areas around the Annex/Kensington Market. I'm gonna have to spend a lot of time in the coffee shops & bars in the...

    Any Rooms to Let?

I arrive in Toronto on the 17th Aug so if anyone has or knows someone with a nice room to let for a year, i'd love to hear about it. Ideally i'm looking downtown, up to $700 a month. Cheers.

    Top Ten Things To Do?

Quick side point - am I right in presuming the best Jays game to go and see would be the Yankees? I want to go, but have no real idea about baseball! Also, has anyone gone to see the Bills play? I've never been to an NFL game and it looks interesting. Oh, and one last thing (Yes, us Brits...

    Top Ten Things To Do?

Guys, legendary stuff. Seriously, what you've given me so far is exactly what i'm looking for. Dundas St W sounds great, and hitting a few bars along College St would be awesome. Likewise, a good Bulleit Bourbon or Manhattan at the Park Hyatt or One checking out the 'entertainment' would be fun...

    Top Ten Things To Do?

Well I'm due to arrive in Toronto on the 17th August on my working visa (I can't wait!), but I wanted to see what the members of UrbanToronto would recommend I do in my first few weeks in TO. Now, I've been to Toronto 3 times, but the last time was in 2003, so I'm pretty sure its changed a...

    Downtown Apartment/House Share Needed

Hi! Well, after months of waiting, i've finally been told that my visa has been approved and so i'll be winging my way to Toronto shortly!! Now I need to organise somewhere to live - i'm hoping to find a house/apartment share in a nice downtown area. I'm planning on arriving in TO on the...

Toronto looks like NYC in those pics! (Esp. the first one - feels like its taken from Rockefeller Centre!) Is that the Sheraton Centre to the right in those photos?

    Not a 24 Hour City

Well I, as a soon to be new resident of Toronto, can't wait to get there! Seriously, I know everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but I just fail to see how anyone can't at least like Toronto, and more often than not love the place. All my friends are really jealous that i'm going over and...

Toronto article in Fall 2009 Intelligent Life Magazine

This is probably bad forum ettiqute, but i'm going to go back to the original artical that this thread is about. The writer completely sums up why i'm in love with Toronto, and why I cannot wait to get there next year. Seriously, you guys don't know how good you've got it. Every day that...

Toronto on a Rainy Night (34 full size images)

Amazing job Redroom! My fav is the Canadian Bank of Commerce entrance. Can I ask what camera & tripod you have? I'm really keen on getting into photography and i'd love a bit of advice. Again, great, great job! Jimbo

    Potential new TO resident!

Thanks Whatever. I'm pretty certain i'm going to stay at Neill-Wycik Summer Hotel (as its damn cheap and centrally located) so i'm gonna hit the streets and see where's best...but SLM does sound great! (though i wouldn't be aversed to an area full of college students!!)

    Potential new TO resident!

So, going by google maps, the Little Italy sort of area? During my last visit, I stayed at the Sheraton Centre and enjoyed the areas west of there, so that could be a good place to start. DSC, I think you're right. I'm planning on getting a Hotwire hotel for 10 or so nights so I can find...

    Potential new TO resident!

Cheers Puke, that is really helpful! I dont mind that its not hipster-land - i'm really looking for a cool, downtown area where most things are walkable from, where i can get a good cup of coffee, some good food stores and where there are some good pubs/bars. Does SLM hit most of those buttons?

    New York City...

London feels nothing like New York. It doesn't have the buzz that New York has. Don't get me wrong, I think London is a great city, but i've never felt like I was actually in a movie while i've been in London. I do get that feeling in NYC.

    Potential new TO resident!

Well...back on to the original topic! (probably a bit strange resurecting a thread from months ago) It's looking like all systems go...May 2010 is my expected arrival. I've really warmed to the idea of living in St Lawrence Market area. From what I understand, the location seems to have...
