The tarp is off the front.

Toronto Garrison Crossing (was Fort York Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge) | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | Pedelta

Looks pretty much ready aside from a bit of landscaping, right? Looking forward to using this, or the Liberty Village bridge, whichever opens first... probably this one?

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

People who thought it was censorship that Goldy wasn't included in the mayoral debates (mostly because she didn't follow the rules for doing so) and generally tried to portray her as the only candidate telling the truth now suddenly don't want to the truth to be known that they voted for a...

Flooding in NB and Quebec. Is it time to stop building on flood plains?

Or is it time to start building flood barriers and generally doing water management?

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Is there a timeline for when Bathurst will be all-panto, or when Flexities will be on it full-time? It seems to be a mix of buses and Flexities right now, and I still occasionally see poles in use northbound from Bloor.

Railside platform - CPR tracks at Macpherson/Madison

Interesting. That's pretty far from Copeland though!

Railside platform - CPR tracks at Macpherson/Madison

I noticed there is a platform on the north side of the CPR tracks north of Dupont, near the corner of Macpherson Ave and Madison Ave. It appears to be an asphalt berm in a former parking lot that is now fenced off and there are Hydro One signs in the area. Anyone know what it's for? I didn't see...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I think it's on record that the lanes on Poplar Plains were the first, in the late 1970s.

Toronto Nathan Phillips Square + Spirit Garden | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto

I don't see why The Archer would need to be moved or removed. Claiming it doesn't represent you is a facile argument - is every artwork supposed to represent the viewer in some way? Do we even know what Henry Moore meant by it, if anything? Could it be interpreted as expressing something...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It's ~54m vs ~83m. Does that really mean that the timing of the Univ/Richmond lights couldn't be adjusted to that of potential Simcoe/Richmond signal? Especially since westbound traffic on Richmond generally has to stop on the east side of the intersection, not in the middle or on the west side...

What's Lisi up to these days?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I actually think this looks worse on DMW than on Cressy, who was responding to a concern raised within the community and is probably more of a consensus-builder in his ward and offline. It's easy to look at e-mail and Twitter and think of a criticism as a 'slam'. I don't see DMW as being...

When do you merge in a merging lane?

I would have thought 'Canadian politeness' implied merging like a zipper, since everyone takes turns, it's fair, we're all nice about it, etc. But as often happens, the much vaunted Canadian politeness is just a façade for passive-aggressiveness, silently judging and trying to punish each other...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Strobel kinda knows what he's doing with his disingenuous trolling. Worms is essentially starstruck by the Fords and Trumps of this world and on top of that is ... how shall I put this? ... a tremendous moron.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

We could have the same scenario as with Bombardier's Mexican plant with the components coming from Germany and being assembled here. I doubt we'd have had the same quality issues.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

In any case, the Gulf Stream doesn't have as much of an effect on the climate of continental Europe as it does on the north of the British Isles and west coast of Norway. Cities in Scandinavia have different (maritime) climates and differences in bike infrastructure have as much to do with...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Subways also don't and can't go everywhere, they're not cost-effective for short distance/multiple trips and they are prone to delays.
