    TTC: Streetcar Network

I feel like it’s one of those things that’s technically against the rules, but everyone does it anyways. Who’s gonna pull over a streetcar? 😂

    TTC: Streetcar Network

I just saw a streetcar intentionally run a red light (the driver definitely saw it was red and proceeded slowly). Are they supposed to do that? 🤨

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

So happy to see the mall get redeveloped. This is going to be a really nice and convenient neighbourhood once the OL opens.

Those arches (in the last two pics) are coming together elegantly.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I’m really in the mood to celebrate the opening of a new transit line. Come on, Metrolinx, you can do it!

This is better than CIBC square. Much better.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

In a generation!? Are you saying only one of these can be built?

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

I must say that the more we learn about Forma, the more I get excited about 212 King West (which is right beside Forma). 212's dark colouring and terracotta cladding will contrast so well with the sparkling Forma. This will undoubtedly be one of the most photographed views in the city. 😍 212...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

The renders really undersell this project. They don’t come close to even approximating how the stainless steel cladding will capture and interact with the light (which is the entire architectural raison d'etre for this project). I suspect software limitations prevent them from creating more...

    Toronto The One | 308.6m | 85s | Tridel | Foster + Partners

So given that it's taken x number of years to get to this point, we should only have to wait 10x longer for... Oh... oh.... okay. Steps away from keyboard...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

Wow, the rumples are a lot more aggressive than I thought they'd be! And these renders really don't do the stainless steel cladding the justice they deserve. This is going to look brilliant (and I mean brilliant in the most literal sense). This thing will be seen sparkling in the daylight from...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

I do agree that BRT is needed across Scarborough. I don’t agree that BRT is the right choice for Eglinton East. An elevated metro or LRT has been my preference for the area, given it’s population density, length and fairly high ridership potential.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

How would a LRT line, with wider stop spacing, all door boarding, TSP be slower than a bus with none of those features?

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

Is the capacity of BRT high enough for this corridor? I recall that they were anticipating 5,000 pax at peak hour. And this bus route was always very overcrowded during rush hour when I lived in the area.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

That’s because we designed the streetcar system to have the extract same stop spacing as the bus network. If the subway had stops every 150 metres, it would be very slow too. I completely agree with you. But I fear that “real TSP” would be tremendously difficult to implement downtown, with all...

    North American Transit System Ranking

Oh, absolutely. I’m very much aware that the bar is on the floor for North American transit operators. The fact that Toronto’s system will perform so well relative to its North American counterparts is says nothing positive about transit operators across the continent. I think its really...

    North American Transit System Ranking

How would you guys rank the top systems in North America in 15 years? Of course taking into account the size, geography and particularities of each city (I wouldn’t peanilze Vancouver for not having a system as large as NYC).

    North American Transit System Ranking

Is it fair to suggest that Toronto is set to have the best transit system in North America? GO RER is a world class suburban rail network, that’ll deliver train service every 5 to 10 mins in most of the GTA. No cities in North America, and few around the world can boast such extensive suburban...

    Toronto 160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG

I'm very surprised by how dark this glass is (the renders looked a lot more silvery/reflective). But I love it. The tower, with its broad stature and dark, angled glass will be very imposing from street level. It will help break up the sea of blue/green glass that is prominent in that area of...
