GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

Yeah, screw GO for trying to economize and get extra motive power on the cheap. All that matters is that we appear "modern". Level of service offered >>>>>> modernity of rolling stock.

Homelessness on GTA Transit (catch all)

I will remember this comment in 30 years when automation has thrown us all out of work. What is the government's responsibility, in your eyes, if looking out for the best interests of their citizens is not?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If the low floor is a factor, I don't think it's a significant one. Not all LF buses are created equal, with the exception of a few basket cases the Orion VIIs provide a very good ride despite their advanced age, much more so than the far younger Novas. So do York Region's Van Hools. And for a...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Ew, no! Can you imagine being stuck on those abominations for 1.5, 2, 3 hours?

Lack of meaningful Passenger Rail service outside the Quebec-Windsor Corridor

Jesus Christ, this forum. No one willingly pays for water. They do it because if they don't, they will die!

TTC Fleet Procurement Strategy - 2022

That is not an H6, that is the H6/T1 Frankenstein from Ankara that was built in 1997. It appears superficially similar to our H6s, but under the hood corresponds more so with the T1s. H5s, just like H6s, were mentioned only for their visual similarity with the Ankara cars. Not that it would be...

TTC Fleet Procurement Strategy - 2022

Bit presumptuous of them to think that they'd get the order if there was funding for it, no?

Streetscapes from Elsewhere - Design Inspirations for Toronto

I don't think it's feasible to make any downtown streetcar tracks greenways, because it would make life difficult for emergency vehicles driving over them.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

How dare you insult Sir Topham Hatt by comparing him to Doug! Under STH's watch the Crosstown would've opened years ahead of schedule 🤣

Apart from the final sentence about the elements, couldn't this argument be used against having windows on a subway car at all?

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Not sure telling someone suing you to get out of court and back to work will yield the results that they are looking for. Did everyone in this government go to the Doug "I'll be up that guy's Ying Yang with a firecracker" Ford school of Diplomacy and Public Relations?

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The states??? Which states??? Surely not the United States, where any random idiot can sue anyone for any and all bodily harm they sustain unto themselves. Where in the US, with its litigious culture, do you think you can put a sign "Stay off the track or get hit" and expect to be free from...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

Have the New Flyers been shown to be any better? Haven't a whole bunch of them been out of service for many months?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

What would be achieved by doing that, apart from creating a whole heap of inconvenience and slowing people down needlessly?

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It amazes me how many people are so subservient to big government that they will side with the thugs at Metrolinx instead of with private individuals. Big government and big business never get it wrong, it's always the damn little people in the way!

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I mean, it's fairly inane to use a slang word on a forum made up of people of all generations and backgrounds and expect everyone to know what that slang word means. "Receipts" as slang to mean "proof" is almost exclusively limited to the internet, don't expect anyone not well versed in internet...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Why is that? They're not limited to 2 doors, they could have 4 or 5 if that's what the operator requests in the design stage. Moving between floors on a train is markedly safer and more stable than it is on a bus, so it can't be that.
