    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Generally, I'd agree with you. EG - auto commuters daily trek. They just put their minds on cruise control and take the route they take daily. The point is, that when you see something different - as in QQ. You should slow down and understand what the signals and signs are telling you. As for...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Yes, they could/should improve the signalling setup BUT, if a driver is confused by too much signage, the default shouldn't be for them to say f*ck it I'll just go now. They should stop/slow down and read it all to understand which is the proper signal for them.

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

You have a pretty good point there. With TO being basically on a grid system for streets, drivers have been spoon fed with simple intersections and straight forward street light signals. Although that being said there's still a lot of mayhem on our roads. Basically, you can't fix stupid, and...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I'd agree they could do more to assist drivers (and also via enforcement/instructional help from police), but at some point, you have to give up and blame the morons behind the wheel. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/impatient-driver-gets-vehicle-impaled-in-brampton-1.3227859 This city...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Simply put: Ego. More foot traffic at the dome for people to 'worship' him.

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Well, this makes me feel better. According to the keychain from the first game, it's only 26 years old. As for a maple leaf on top of the dome, nope, if they do anything it would be the Blue Jays logo. Worst case: Rogers effing logo.

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

Totally agree. For a million, I thought it was a relative bargain. Location, location, location.

To be honest, from that photo AG provided, nothing would really make it cozy - trees lining bremner would certainly help. I do agree with your original idea though. Brick cladding would be tough to pull off (and really expensive) - although I'd prefer it, but I also like your option of going in...

Haven on the Bluffs (VHL Developments) - Real Estate -

Drove by this evening. No construction on the actual site, but the city(?) is doing a boatload of work on the side streets to the west and south of it. It may be city prep work prior to them going forward? No clue. Old beer store still standing too.

    Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

It's a wedge shaped tower on a triangular podium. If you check out the floor plans, they show the floor plate of the tower. http://www.tridel.com/tenyork/prices-floorplans/?suite=c975fa40-4525-44af-837f-5b758cd6929e

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

I totally get where you're coming from, but from looking at the PAG's, they've been fairly smart in building some of these venues near colleges and universities so they still get some use - even the velodrome has other uses. I'd like to see a post PAG's analysis before getting totally onboard...

    Toronto Ridiculous NIMBYism thread

I'm not surprised. I went by Friday afternoon and picked up 6 and a T-Shirt for a gathering I was having that night, everyone absolutely loved their beer. ETA - Also the fridge where they had the cold ones for sale was almost empty.

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

YA, I sorta realized after I posted that I recalled seeing some red dotted lines. Braindead today, too much weekend fun. A month ago I was against an Olympic proposal (and Pan Ams) but the cynic in me sees it as the path of least resistance to QQE LRT, DRL and kickstarting the Portlands. We...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

Leveraging that 2008 bid, if there were venues at Ont Place, TO Islands(?), Ex and Rogers centre - and athletes village (plus venues) at Portlands. The City may also repurpose a ferry to do a circuit of those cites as an additional way to get athletes and fans to the events. Maybe even throw in...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

The easiest, most obvious choice is the portlands. They could kick start that area similar to lower donlands by building the Olympic village in the portlands and maybe a few venues.

    Toronto Ridiculous NIMBYism thread

This is what gets me. We have three very recent NIMBY stories now, and all of them were generally slammed in their comments sections and these forums, yet these people continue to provide their names for mocking, etc. Maybe that's the Star's purpose on running these stories? Let these people...

    Toronto 2015 Pan American Games

Thanks for all that. Sounds like this will still be a useful building after PAG's. Whether it's for the velodrome, or the other amenities.

Can't do that (me likey beer too much) Oh, I'll be pulling up with tunes a blaring, and I'll remember to lock my doors several times (randomly) It honks everytime :)

    Toronto Ridiculous NIMBYism thread

Just read the Brewery's website. Unbelievable. Definitely stopping by this weekend if I have a chance. Very tempted to 'loud talk' while I'm there, but it would just give them more grief.

    Toronto 2015 Pan American Games

Thanks for that, I finally now know what the deal is with Birchmount stadium as I didn't think it could possibly host any events. (training facility) IIRC I read a while ago the Milton Velodrome had the ability to 'remove' the cycling oval to convert it to a normal community centre. (baskeball...
