Definitely the best design was chosen. It has the potential to be quite beautiful actually, and it will be situated among other new, great works of architecture. Do they have the funding to break ground on this, or does money need to be raised still?

Am I the only one who thinks that this building turned out much better in real life then in the original rendering? It has a vaugely deco-ish quality to it. I think it also blocks the view of the far uglier building directly behind it, and its lines seem to compliment the JCC.

I agree. The original design was intended for a sense of symmetry in this complex that will now be lost with this new design. MaRS will now seem much more piecemeal then originally intended.

While it looks quite nice, I can't help but think that the designs seem much more Asiatic then Islamic. I had been hoping for some traditional Middle Eastern style domes and minnarets.
