    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Again , they're just rumors. But looking at Adam Giamborne resume is not that far fetched. And the scandal of something that happened over 10 years ago , I doubt people will make that an issue. Sure they'll bring it up, but it will soon be forgotten. But I do expect Leary to be gone by the end...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Rumor is , he'll be the next CEO, replacing Rick Leary. Especially with his deep roots with the NDP and connections with Olivia chow, and the jobs and experience he's had since leaving politics. Even being TTC Chair was good experience. I also noticed he's been more vocal on Twitter , critical...

    Niagara Region Transit Discussion Thread

I do believe more transit systems in southern Ontario should be combined into one solar to Niagara region , and many others that have combined almost 20 years ago. Halton Region Transit and Peel Region Transit to name a few. Better connections within each region, consolidating operations and...

    Mayor Olivia Chow's Toronto

On what date will Olivia Chow appoint councilors to various boards and committees?

    Hitachi Astemo Canada Inc Rail

Looks like Hitachi recently acquired property in Schomberg Ontario. Just north west of Toronto I assume it's a facility to build cars for the Ontario line, and I would also assume it would put them in good position to compete with Alstom for Subway cars for TTC.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

'The committee unanimously put forward a name from a long list of international candidates, and I think everyone’s really comfortable and pleased with who we’re going to put forward,” Colle said." My original point still stands. And why are we looking international, surely there are many...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

If that's the case, why did he apply and accept this position? Many people would take this job and still do a better job. Rick Leary history in transit is not the best either, so if anything, I blame the board for hiring him, and not the excuse you listed.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I don't think John Tory wants a repeat of 2011 and the Gary Webster fiasco. TTC would have to buy him out or give him some kind of package. With 2022 being an election year and all the mess that as been happening, I'll bet money that wont happen. If John is re elected, which I suspect he will...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

2023 made more sense to me, considering its usually 5 year contract. But with more people on this site and others saying his Ricks contract is up this month, I figure I'd ask the question. Looks like we have another year, unfortunately. Id rather see Steve Munro part of the TTC Board than TTC...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

So I'm hearing more rumors that TTC CEO Rick Leary contract expires at the end of Feb 2022, but I can't find any reference or info on this. Anyone able to confirm that Rick Leary Contract expires this month? I haven't seen any job posting regarding the CEO position.

TTC Fleet Procurement Strategy - 2022

I've heard rumors of TTC and New Flyer not getting along. Anyone know the history behind it. But yet they have 25 E-electric buses from New Flyer. So what ever so-called beef they had must not be true? I wonder how this will affect bids for future hybrid buses

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

What kind of examples are out there that have semi-permanently coupled cars with full-width gangways? I assume it means each pair would be open gangways, but not a full 6 car like the TR? Eg, if its 3 car sets, they would be open gangways between 3 cars only, and not all 6 cars from end to end...

Thanks for the responses. It seems as though the biggest worry for NYC trains in Toronto would be the 2 inch extra wide gauges. I thought I read somewhere, that the gauge wasn't much of a big deal and could be adjusted if really needed. When the CLRVs were new and went to Boston for trial use...

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

Out of curiosity , how similar are the TTC TR/T1 cars vs a NYC R179 or any NYC trains. Would you be able to run a NYC train in Toronto tunnels and vice versa, a TR/T1 in NYC tunnels? Would TTC be able to hop on a NYC train order and replace the T1s on BD? Or are the two models too far off in...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

This was off camera, so no one knows. I believe there will be a report back to the Board in March 2018. Its interesting how TTC changed their tune from very much against it, to now being more open on the whole matter. Its as if someone talked to them and are now willing to negotiate. If I...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

If its a Human Rights violation why is TTC moving ahead with it? They aren't even waiting for the matter to go through arbitration, they're just going ahead with it regardless if its a violation or not The Union says they are going to court. Why is TTC going down a road where apparently they...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The reason why the new buses came in early was to increase the spare ratio. Apparently there are TTC buses with presto installed on them already. I expect in another month or so you will start to see more of them with presto

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

What about leasing buses to replace streetcar routes like 502, 503, 508, 506 until enough LRVs are delivered. Buses aren't that bad. Apparently there's a lot of streetcar operators that are dual trained. I'm sure TTC can sue the living daylights out of BBD, to point they will be out of business...

I still see a few operators using the cab doors at Eglinton Station. I guess the second generation of TRs won't have any cab doors. I thought that the same company that went bankrupt made both the cab doors and the main doors? Are these trains coming off warranty without this issue being corrected?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

It made more sense to go with a manufacturer that already meets the requirements anyways. I'm not sure why TTC wasted there time, almost starting the process over again just to cut the process short anyways. They wasted their own time. But they did make a good point, which is probably why they...
