Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

It makes more sense to just move the GO buses to Sheppard/McCowan and make a big hub there. Shhh. People don't know that the 129, 130, 131, 132 and 169 would end up there. I think once TTC does a survey, everyone will pick the routes to stay at STC. I really don't think they would keep the...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

They could elevate the entire eastern line starting around VP. The could build the tracks directly above the centre of the roadway or to one side. It be Scarborough signature rapid transit. A good reminder of it.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Don Mills to McCowan with 6 proposed stations with a length of 7.2km could potentially reach 50km/h avg if they can get top speed to 80 km/h. The same distance through downtown portion of Line 2 would cover 12 stations. That's a lot more deacceleration and dwelling.

That could have ended badly if a train is inbounded.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I believe they scheduled streetcars on St Clair starting June 23. This will be an interesting messed of unscheduled and untrackable busses.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

No, especially south of King in rush hour. You'll walk faster than the bus stuck in gridlock traffic. They should really short turn all buses at King in PM rush. Instead the plan is to run buses every 2.5 min through that mess. Get ready to see 20+ buses all stuck south of King.

    Eastern Avenue Bridge/DVP Interchange

I would really love to see them relief the Gardiner/DVP with a northbound offramp at Eastern. There is no exit between Jarvis and Bayview/Bloor which is a good 7.5km if the ramp is blocked for whatever reason. Getting from Southern Etobicoke to East Toronto is really hard to do these days with...

Broadview Eastern Flood protection and area

Instead of adding more ramps to and from the DVP, removing the ramps would just moved all the cars to Dundas. The 505 will be more impacted with the long queue of cars trying to heed up the DVP. The city is doing everything possible to make travels from west to east impossible with a car.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I guess they are still pointing fingers. ML gave bad specs (cause they never built a subway before) vs Crosslinx (who is hired cause they are suppose to be the experts follow ML's bad specs). Now no one wants to talk about it. Maybe the line will never open and all they are doing are stall...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Should build some truck only lanes and keep them there. Probably some for speed demons too. Signed use at your own risk!

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Possible for OL which uses overhead catenary but definitely not for Yonge north. The extra cost for more tunnel liners and extra dirt truckloads is not worth it. It depends on the condition of the TBMs. If everything needs refurbishment, it would be easier to just buy a new one.

Rail is way easier to control with a signalling system.

Bradford Bypass (MTO, Hwy 400 - Hwy 404)

They started with 400, 401 and 402. The numbers were designated as they are being planned. The next highway was 403. 404 was then designated in the 60s for north of DVP but didn't start till the DVP was done in the late 70s. 405 and 406 follow suit. 407 could have been the 8th highway planned in...

The TTC will just operate at 50 km/h even when 60 is allowed.

Wait, who said the current platforms don't fit 3-car trains? All platforms (surface and underground) are around 95 metres long and there will be a 1/3 unused. It's not even walled off unlike Line 4. Hope people don't stand in the wrong place. I highly doubt people will prefer to transfer to...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

It only takes 3-4 years to actually build a highway. Half the time is spent on EAs and design. This highway can be done before 2030 if they throw the money at it and not have the feds stop it.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

You can see how well Ford's priority projects are moving along versus projects handed to them. Examples: Eglinton West Extension: One TBM has completed tunneling. This wasn't even a thing when he was elected. Ontario Line: Major constructions have began Scarborough Extension (revised project...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

You can pretty much get away from 10 km/h above whatever speed limit posted in Ontario. The cops won't spend their time writing you up with a high chance it'll be tossed in court. Just don't do the same with the speed cameras. Those machines have all the time in the world. Speed bumps work way...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Metrolinx can upload the subway and outsource it. It can't get worst than the bottom of the barrel, can't it?
