Did anything happen with this project?

I don't necessarily think an 8 to 10 story building on the globe site would ruin the aesthetics of the street. Conversely it would most likely fit in. However say someone on the 6th or 7th floor of 400Wellington facing south will have a view south but would lose it later. That's all I'm saying.

It would be nice if they would beautify Augusta too from Dundas towards atleast Richmond. Maybe plant some trees and such to connect the Dundas area with the Queen West area. I find the change between King to Queen and then Queen to Dundas is quite drastic.

Thank you Mongo! Sometimes I find it difficult to explain to those who used to live here how much change is going on. This puts some perspective.

I just noticed this is set for 16 stories. Isn't that quite high for west of Spadina, especially not having a corner lot?

Maybe someone with more construction experience can weigh in. But it seems they are on around the second floor right now. I was assuming 2 weeks per floor (taking into account the winter months). That would put the outside finished around mid 2011. Can the interiors be finished in only 6 months?

I'm predicting a six month delay which is quite amazing for a condo project. They seemed way behind then came out of nowhere.

I'm hoping for a JCrew at the bottom of this complex although not sure they would pay the crazy rents that are probably being asked. On the other hand, how much higher can rent be here than further west on Bloor?

A commercial broker ( a buddy of mine) told me that this site was sold to a developer (Freed or Tridel perhaps). He wasn't specific. I think he spoke more than he should have! Any word on if this is true? Would make a nice infill project. I know Stephenson's wants a bigger location.

im so curious to see how the units look inside this place...developers are all over the place with finishes and quality. without mentioning any names

Couldn't have said it better. I have travelled to forty US states and their customer service puts ours to shame.

depends where you are in freedville. Welllington area is very quiet. King not so much. I went out with friends who live in Boutique on Simcoe and that area still seems much louder and wilder. Just my two cents

nothing is being sold in this condo on the higher levels where asking prices are over $900/sq ft. Three different agents confirmed that. One also said that Cresford's other condo, the BSN recently sold 2 units (1 million-plus) on high levels.

slightly off topic, but if this building ever does get built where do the current offices get moved to? can't be that easy to find a lot of affordable office space in that area can it? My apologies if someone has already mentioned where they would relocate to.

agreed again. I don't see any kind of correction in the best locations. Just a slowdown in appreciation.

i wonder if a mid 2012 is likely for this project. It is only 12 stories but it seems they have been excavating for quite a while.

Agreed. Don't forget 400 Wellington, a hidden gem.

This forum always skews in one direction. For example BSN floorplans and interiors are far superior to CASA but most people on this forum can't look past the exterior.
